An opening Glimpse of Rudram Chamakam
Sampling the infinite
Age is perhaps just a number. Retiring from the clutches of day to day responsibilities, one can perhaps open doors, and see a newer self. Transformation awaits!
My father in law! After retiring as a Math teacher and school headmaster, he put his heart into memorising chants by joining to an active Satsang group. An epitome of rigor and discipline, his daily routine of chanting from memory is just adorable commendable.
This world is a web of Vishwaroopam. A divine play of terrible and good.. Destruction unfolding Newer Beginnings. Divinity pervades in every inch and breath
Oh ferocious and majestic one! Strike on the root of my ignorance, and reveal your benevolent self!
Oh Golden armed one! Oh commander of troops and lord of directions! Singularly you pervade in every inch and breath. Verily, you are the elements, the metals! The Lord of forests and fields.. The lord of green leaves, medicinal herbs, life and vegetation! The quintessential flowing waters! The lord of ministry, commerce and roaring soldiers.. In everything moving grand and small!
You are the Time!
May you fulfill my basic needs! Bless me abundance, progeny, health, and wisdom!
May you prepare, and guide my transformation! May you steal my ignorance, ego, and reveal thy light!
ओ-न्नमो भगवते॑ रुद्रा॒य ॥
Rudra! Salutations O terrible opulent one!
Salutations to you! Salutations to your arrows, your mighty bow and those strong arms!
Rudra! With your quiver full of auspicious arrows, strike us Joy! Rudra!
Rudra! Strike and destroy our sins.. Girisha! Reveal your Shanta form.. May that arrow not harm the world.. May there be no suffering in this world. We invoke you!
That one who descends with a red body and the blue neck.. The cowherds and the women carrying water on their heads have seen him.
Salutations to him! Salutations to his followers!
O thousand-eyed Lord, lower your bow and keep its arrows away from us. Be peaceful and kind to us.
