A poetic deepening of the Surya Namaskaras

The dawn begins painting a thousand hues.. the day begins with a thousand rays of the Sun.. the plant meditates a thousand leaves open.. the flowers blossom a thousand petals deepen..

May the radiance of a 1000 raising Suns be with you..

divi surya-sahasrasya ..bhaved yugapad utthita.. Gita 11.12

As you stand firmly rooted to the ground and bend back..feel the 1000 rays lighting your arms.. feel the warmth opening up your heart..

As you bend forward from the root of your back.. shift the weight to the front.. Feel your stomach caving in.. Take refuge in your legs..

As you kick your right leg back strong.. root your palms and look upwards..

As you kick your left leg back..feel the lightening alignment in your body.. feel the weight on your palms..

As you curl into rabbit, feel the warmth in your chest and take shelter in your arms..

As you glide into astanga.. lift off your hip and observe your heart beat..

Lift up into serpent and take off your knees.. feel the arch of your back.. weight on your palms and gaze backward..

Drop your head into mountain and lift up your butts.. Plant your feet firm and feel the light in your arms..

Curl into into rabbit, feel the warmth in your chest and take shelter in your arms..

As you kick forward into horse pose feel the strength in your core and the power of glutes..

As you step forward your left foot and plant your feet..take refuge in your legs..

As you inhale and stretch back..feel the 1000 rays lighting your arms.. feel the warmth opening up your heart..

May the Golden orb of the Sun uncover the path of obstacles and reveal the vision of truth and integrity..
